St Mel's Education Community acknowledges the traditional owners and custodians on which our kindergarten, school and parish is situated, the people of the Yorta Yorta nation, including the eight clans: Bangerang, Kailtheban, Kwat Kwat, Moira, Ulupna, Wollithiga, Yalaba Yalaba and Ngurai-illiam-wurrung.

We pay our respects to Elders past, and present, and continue to work alongside our First Nations people toward reconciliation and justice.
