Soccer

St Mel's Southern Stars is our Soccer Club and has had a really strong history since our school began. We are  an affiliate of the Shepparton Junior Soccer Association. Soccer is a winter sport and runs through terms 2 and 3. Games are played on Saturday's at John McEwan Reserve. Registration forms will be sent home in March. Age groups are under 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12s.

Netball

St Mel’s have had a strong presence within the Shepparton Netball Association’s winter netball competition for many years, with children participating from all ages in the 9 & under, 11 & under and 13 & under age groups.  

With the support of parent volunteers in coaching, managing teams, administrative tasks and much-needed fundraising, our St Mel’s community can enjoy the many benefits of being involved in a team sport that provides our children with not only the physical skills but also those that come with being part of a team. 

The Shepparton Netball Association’s winter competition generally commences at the start of Term 2, and information regarding the season and registration will be distributed to families within the first few weeks of term 1.

 St Mel’s Soccer and Netball Club uniform items are available from the St Mel’s Soccer and Netball Clubs and worn representing the St Mel’s Soccer and Netball Clubs and St Mel’s Primary School at after school training and weekend competition.

St Mel’s Soccer Jersey (loaned from the St Mel’s Soccer Club and returned at season end for a small fee).

Plain black shorts, soccer boots, shin guards and dark coloured soccer socks ie black/dark green (players to provide).

St Mel’s Netball Dress (loaned from the St Mel’s Netball Club and returned at season end for a small fee).

Plain black netball nicks, sports shoes/runners and socks (players to provide).

An optional St Mel’s Soccer and Netball Clubs’ Hoodie is available for purchase from the St Mel’s Soccer and Netball Clubs. The St Mel’s Soccer and Netball Clubs’ Hoodie has been introduced by the St Mel’s Soccer and Netball Clubs for players to wear at after school training and weekend competition.
